In this episode of the tafsīr series, Shaykh Dr. Aḥsan Hanif reflects on the opening verses of Surah Al-Isra (1-8), highlighting the miraculous Night Journey of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ from Al-Masjid Al-Ḥaram to Al-Masjid Al-Aqṣa, through which Allah honoured His Servant and showed him His signs. These verses affirm that Allah alone is the source of guidance and that He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. We are reminded that gratitude, obedience, and humility lead to success, while corruption and arrogance bring consequences upon oneself. The verses emphasise personal accountability: doing good benefits us, and wrongdoing returns upon us. Yet Allah leaves the door of mercy open, calling us to repentance and a return to His guidance.
