The Philadelphia 76ers were a no-show in Boston, falling behind by 35 points in the second half in a putrid effort against the Celtics to drop to an 0-1 hole in the best-of-seven first round series.

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26 and 25 points, respectively, as the Celtics shot 50% from the field for the game. Payton Pritchard (12), Neemias Queta (13), Sam Hauser (12) and Derrick White (10) all finished in double digits as well.

The Celtics held the Sixers to just 39% shooting from the field and 4-23 from 3-point range, with Tyrese Maxey struggling to an 8-20 showing. Paul George added 17 and VJ Edgecombe 13.

Behind strong performances from their dynamic backcourt of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic to capture the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. With the win, the Sixers will take on Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics in the first round, with the first game of their seven game series on Sunday night.

Tyrese Maxey led the Sixers with 31 points and 6 assists on 11-25 shooting. VJ Edgecombe added 19 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, with Kelly Oubre Jr (19 points, 5-10 from 3) and Andre Drummond (14 points, 10 rebounds) chipping in as well.

For Orlando, Desmond Bane led all scorers with 34 points. Paolo Banchero added 18 points and 5 rebounds, albeit on just 7-22 shooting from the field.

With the win, Philadelphia takes the 7th seed and will take on Boston in the first round. Orlando will host Charlotte on Friday in the final play-in game to determine who will capture the final playoff spot in the East.
