  • Six Girls Rescued in One Hour: Inside the Nepal–India Trafficking Border| @everydaughetrmatter | Darren Reynolds (Part 2)
    2026/07/13

In this episode we are going to talk about the some of the terrifying story about poverty and trafficking.

"We're going to a dance competition in India."

That was the story six girls told at the Nepal border, all lured by the same trafficker, all rescued within a single hour.

In Part 2 of this series, Darren Reynolds of Every Daughter Matters takes us deep into how trafficking really works along the open 1,800km Nepal–India border: the poverty that makes children vulnerable, the lies that lure them, and the local Nepali team — many survivors themselves — who intercept them.

We talk shelters, reunification, the shame culture that can declare a missing daughter dead to her family, and why girls are still treated as disposable while boys are prized.

A hard, hopeful conversation about courage on the front line.

  • @EveryDaughterMatters ; Stopping Trafficking at the Nepal–India Border| Darren Reynolds Part 1
    2026/07/06

Every year, an estimated 20,000–25,000 women and children are trafficked across the Nepal–India border, one of the busiest trafficking routes on the planet. In this first of a four-part conversation, I sit down with @DarrenReynolds from @EveryDaughterMatters (EDM), an Australian not-for-profit working to intercept girls at the border before the trauma ever begins.Darren spent 18 years in radio production before a trip to @Cambodia changed the course of his life. He tells the story of meeting an eight-year-old girl in a rescue home — the same age as his own daughter — and how that moment set him on a path through World Vision, the Salvation Army, and undercover rescue work in Thailand, to the prevention-first model he champions today. This is a hard conversation, but an important one. Every Daughter Matters has grown from a single surveillance booth to thirteen along the border, documenting 1,572 rescues last year alone and more than 5,000 in six years — working hand-in-hand with Nepali partners and local police. As Darren puts it: there are two ways to save a drowning man. You can pull him out of the water, or you can stop him falling in. This is the story of stopping the fall.— Mauro▶ CHAPTERS00:00 Welcome to Progress Over Perfection00:34 What is Every Daughter Matters?01:40 The founding story: Ross Nancarrow & Aashish Social Service Nepal03:26 From one booth to thirteen04:29 From radio producer to the rescue field06:00 Cambodia: children on the rubbish tip07:12 World Vision and the 40 Hour Famine08:52 Two ways to save a drowning man09:19 How traffickers really operate11:27 Meeting Lacanar — the eight-year-old who changed everything17:34 A conversation in an Uber: New Delhi's hidden buildings20:28 Who are the perpetrators?21:50 Do traffickers ever face justice?23:31 "It takes a village": working alongside police25:30 A national award from Nepal Police26:52 Closing thoughts🌿 SUPPORT EVERY DAUGHTER MATTERSWebsite: https://everydaughtermatters.org.auDonate: https://donorbox.org/every-daughter-mattersInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/rescuingnepalsdaughtersFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/RescuingNepalsDaughters(EDM is a registered Public Benevolent Institution with DGR status — donations over $2 are tax-deductible in Australia.)🎙 ABOUT PROGRESS OVER PERFECTIONConversations about the things that actually move us forward — relationships, growth, courage, and the people doing the work that matters. • "How a Work Injury Can Destroy Your Relationship (And How to Survive It)"
    2026/06/29

What happens to a relationship when one person gets seriously injured at work?

    Not a sprained wrist.

A life-changing injury, the kind that takes away their identity, their income, their sense of self.

Because here's what nobody talks about: injuries don't just happen to the person.

    They happen to the couple.

In this episode of Progress Over Perfection, I sit down with @ChantelleWood rehabilitation counsellor, nationally accredited mediator and founder of Restorative Referrals, to talk about what she sees after more than a decade of supporting injured workers and their families across Australia.

We cover:Why some couples survive serious injury and others don't? The research showing men are more likely to leave when a partner gets sick or injured.

What partners get wrong during recovery (even with the best intentions)The 161% increase in psychological workplace injuries in Australia in just 10 yearsAnd the story of one client that Chantelle will never forgetThis is one of the most honest, important conversations I've had on this podcast.
