In this episode of Organised Sound, we speak to composer and singer-songwriter Rebekah Fitch about her incredible track for the BBC’s 2024 Paris Olympics trailer, for which she was shortlisted Best New Composer at the Kinsale Shark Awards 2024.
Rebekah’s musical journey began as a classical musician and singer-songwriter, before switching her focus to composition. She creates memorable melodies surrounded by unique sonic worlds, drawing from her love of pop, experimentalism, and incredible vocal ability.
Rebekah’s music has been used widely on BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky and more. She recently composed the music for Bronze Shark Award film, Re:Joyce, and composed the new anthem and sonic logo for Asia’s first Women’s Champions League, which was brought to life with a live orchestra and 102-voice choir. A prolific writer of production music, Rebekah is on the 100% HER programme with Universal Production Music and is also a Member of the Alliance for Women Film Composers.
