Travelling in Norway is unlike travelling anywhere else in Northern Europe. The show follows one route through a country of glaciated high plateaus, deep fjords and arctic tundra, where the west coast stays rainy while the interior grows colder. Each episode treats movement as a way of understanding how the terrain shapes Norwegian life.

The host moves from the Skagerrak coast in the south-east to Bergen on the west coast, then on to the Jotunheimen mountains and the arctic plateau of Finnmarksvidda. The listener hears how these places connect: coastal weather systems, mountain routes, and the sparsely populated interior of the north.

Each series of episodes follows one place over time, from the long darkness of winter to the midnight sun of summer. The host settles, learns the routines of a village or city, then moves somewhere connected to it. By returning to the same viewpoints and paths as the seasons change, the podcast builds a slow, layered portrait of Norway that no short visit could offer.

Ingrid Solberg lives in Norway and stays for two years, moving between cities, coastlines and smaller towns on a route that follows the seasons. Not a week-long visit — Ingrid is there in every kind of weather, working out where to eat on an ordinary Tuesday, which train to take, what a festival actually feels like from the pavement.

A new episode arrives every day. Each one is short and specific: one neighbourhood, one journey, one meal, one museum worth the detour — with the practical detail that matters. What it costs. When it closes. Whether the queue is worth it. What to do when it rains. Every episode carries a full transcript and chapter markers.
