We have an aggressive emissions reduction plan (well a plan to have a plan!) set for 2030, yet alternative energy has yet to produce the kind of energy we need to sustain our way our current way of life. Moreover, if due to these aggressive targets we are unable to help our European allies against Putin's military aggression. We need to have a real plan in place regarding our emission so we can sustain our current living standards and be ready to help our allies be less reliant on Russian energy.
