Dr. Dunkley began this podcast about the topic of Mission Statement. Wanting to let future golf students understand a few goals Neuro Golf Academy sees as important when learning new skills. 3 Key Concepts encountered in the Putting Class were discussed.
1) The Inner Game
2) Putting Alignment
3) Set up Putting Routine and Practice. How targets help student practice. For example distances for putts that are short, medium and long lag putting.
There was a discussion about how degrees of loft that are commonly spoken about with drivers (10.5 positive lie most common). Putters also have degree of lie. It is not talked about because almost 100% of putters have a 4 or 5 degree of postive lie. There was research done using a standardized putting machine from ideas in the 1930s. Finding were the negative -4 degrees actually hit the ball further on the green and there was less break on the green to the hole. A 10 foot put actually brok 3 to 5 inches with the -4 degrees negative loft versus 2times the amount of break and a much shorter putting distance with the same amount of force from a 4 degree positive lie putter face. Putting is totally about aim, sight, speed and distance. Dr. Dunkley spoke about Chuck Hogan and the "Purple Worms" Visualization. Key of putting are Visualization, Spatial 3D Programming and Memorization all designed with Cognitive NeuroScience in the products Neuro Golf Acadmety includes in the putting course.
