  • David Zaslav Says People Are So in Love with HBO’s Content They’ll Embrace Price Increases
    2025/09/18

David Zaslav, head of Warner Bros. Discovery, has defended potential price increases for HBO Max, arguing that consumers "love" the platform's content so much they will accept higher costs. He suggested that while there are too many streaming players, and some have aggressively dropped prices, HBO Max's quality justifies a premium. Zaslav also referenced that consumers paid more for content a decade ago and are now paying dramatically less for increased content and quality. However, the article challenges his assertion about other streamers lowering prices, noting that most platforms, including Apple TV+, Netflix, and Dropout.tv, have recently increased their subscription costs.

  • SUPERMAN Making-Of Documentary Hints at the Super Family vs. Brainiac in a Sequel
    2025/09/18

DC Studios and Warner Bros. have released an hour-long documentary titled Adventures in the Making of Superman on YouTube, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the relaunch of the iconic character.[1] Eagle-eyed viewers of the documentary noticed a storyboard that may hint at a sequel, showing Superman, Supergirl, and Krypto flying together with the head of Brainiac in the bottom left corner.[1] Brainiac, considered one of Superman's greatest foes and second only to Lex Luthor, has never appeared in a live-action film despite multiple appearances by other villains.[1] Brainiac has a history of shrinking Krypton's capital city, Kandor, which could tie into an adventure for the entire Superman family, as Supergirl has personal memories of Brainiac's arrival on Krypton.[1] The article suggests this could be an opportunity to introduce Superboy/Conner Kent and even Lois Lane as Superwoman for a cosmic adventure.[1] James Gunn had previously mentioned Brainiac as a potential villain for Superman.

  • Vincent D’Onofrio Really Wants to Play Swamp Thing in the DCU
    2025/09/18

Vincent D'Onofrio, known for his role as Kingpin in Marvel's Daredevil, has expressed a strong desire to play Swamp Thing in the DCU. D'Onofrio has stated multiple times that Swamp Thing is one of his favorite comic book characters, ranking him alongside Spider-Man and Batman.[1] While he has faced legal restrictions regarding his Marvel character in certain big-screen projects, he sees a potential DC role in the "sympathetic monster." [1]Although a Swamp Thing film, with James Mangold directing, was announced by James Gunn in early 2023, the project is currently on the back burner. [1]Swamp Thing, a brilliant scientist named Alec Holland transformed into a misunderstood creature, first appeared in the 1970s and gained significant acclaim from Alan Moore's poetic transformation of the character in the 1980s. [1]The character has previously appeared in films, a 90s cartoon, and a short-lived 2019 streaming series.

  • James Gunn Thinks Green Lantern Could Beat Superman
    2025/09/18

In an appearance on Howard Stern's radio show, DC Studios co-head James Gunn stated his belief that a member of the Green Lantern Corps could "handily" defeat Superman, a sentiment Stern, a self-proclaimed DC Comics geek, agreed with[1]. Gunn referenced the Green Lantern power rings' energy, which is willpower-based and acts similarly to magic, one of Superman's few weaknesses alongside Kryptonite[1]. Despite Superman rarely fighting Green Lanterns in the comics due to their alliance in the Justice League, Gunn's comments suggest a potential future showdown in the DCU[1].
