We dive right in with fellow myth lover, storyteller, and entertainer, Matt Kessan, also known as Reverend Matt from Reverend Matt's Monster Science.
First, Shiva finds new love that is also old love, which excites the gods who are desperate for Shiva to have his destiny fulfilling son. They are a little too anxious as it leads to an adventurous 'birth' involving a godly pigeon and a boiling river. I'd say you can't make this stuff up but here we are.
Then, it's the story of the Tripura, the three flying demon fortresses, that actually is pretty noble before the gods get their way and they need to destroy the cities through a team up in a very literal sense.
Matt is more familiar with the Ramayana than the Mahabharata, and is thrilled to hear the connections between them whilst sharing his own questions and monster expertise.
S.P. Jayaraj is a mythology and mahabharata fanatic and the creator of the mythic world of Adijari that is the setting of his two novels, The Secret of the Zipacna Dragons and Legacy of the Crow. He is also a Creative Life Coach through his business Imagination Life Coaching.
He draws inspiration from global mythology.
