  • Protecting your Fleet from Distracted Driving
    2025/05/14

We all know distracted driving is a serious issue and that it has an immeasurable impact on road safety. Each year, thousands of lives are lost and countless more are injured due to drivers being distracted by their phones, eating while driving, or other behaviors behind the wheel. In April during Distracted Driving Awareness Month, it's a great time to remember that we all have an obligation to ensure we drive as safely as possible every time we get behind the wheel.

But fleet operators have an even greater duty to ensure their drivers are not driving distracted- because they face liability issues and legal challenges if they don't have strong policies and standards that address the issue with their drivers. In this episode, hear from Ted Chen, Co-Founder and CEO of LifeSaver Mobile, about the dangers of distracted driving and a real-world solution fleets should implement in order to protect their drivers and keep them from being distracted, as well from Bri Jesionek, Market Strategy Director- Enterprise Telematics, Great American Insurance Group, to share her perspectives from the insurance industry on how underwriters or carriers can motivate groups to go beyond policy and opt into preventative safety technology and why fleets need to take distracted driving seriously.
