Today the church celebrates the solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the unity of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, three persons in one God. We invoke the Trinity when we make the sign of the cross at prayer.
Fr. Sikstus explains the Holy Trinity as a mystery of love, mercy, and salvation. God the Father is our Creator, compassionate and merciful, loving us despite our brokenness and imperfections. He sends his only Son, Jesus, not to condemn the world, but to redeem us through obedience, sacrifice, and redemption. The Holy Spirit is then sent to remain within us, guiding, strengthening, and helping us in daily life. Though the Trinity cannot be fully understood by the mind, we believe with humility and trust. May this solemnity remind us that God is for us, with us and within us.
