Mums F**king Matter with Lucy Wylde is a weekly podcast aimed at helping Mums to feel more seen and validated in their experiences of motherhood and matrescence. Just because society doesn’t (yet!) respect the monumental role of Mothers, it doesn’t mean that we can’t value ourselves. As a self-advocacy and body literacy coach, burlesque teacher, yoga instructor, perinatal exercise specialist and Mum, Lucy shares her experience, passion and gentle activism for creating greater ease, pleasure and joy in body and mind, to help you adjust to one of life’s biggest transitions; Matrescence.Copyright 2026 Lucy Wylde エクササイズ・フィットネス フィットネス・食生活・栄養 人間関係 子育て 心理学 心理学・心の健康 衛生・健康的な生活

  • S2 #19 Being More Human(!)
    2026/07/21

It's important to not override our body's very real needs and desires I feel. So, here is an episode about allowing ourselves to be more human; to show things and maybe do more of what we do without masking (moderation may be key of course).

    — Why? Because we are not robots! And, especially in a world that is becoming more tech crazy than ever, with AI, going 'cashless' and the like.

In this episode I speak about:

    • giving less f**ks about 'shoulds', pressures and conditioning
    • being a nervous system friendly personal trainer
    • masculine and feminine energy
    • boundaries and shedding the 'Martyr Mother' role
    • wearing your own hat
    • toxic bosses/colleagues

Themes: nervous system care, fitness, boundaries, body literacy, emotional intelligence

I mention Christina Perri, Episode #15 of my podcast, Suzy Reading, Sarah Forbes @mamasexbook on IG, Episode #31 with Alex Higham, and Brené Brown.

At the end, I read a poem by Tanya Markul.

  • S2 #18 Helping Parents with Hypnotherapy; An Interview with Laura Styles
    2026/07/07

Laura Styles is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, mindset coach and Mum of boys on a mission to help as many mums as possible unlearn their patriarchal conditioning and live a life of ease and freedom.

Founder of 'The Mindful Generation', she helps self-led mums shed the subconscious beliefs keeping them anxious, overstretched and stuck in martyrdom — and step into a grounded, magnetic, fully expressed version of themselves.

In this episode we speak about:

    • Laura's work, where she lives and what makes her happy
    • tending to our children as we and they may need
    • tapping into our maternal wisdom
    • Laura's experience of growing up in a strict religious setting
    • working on your relationship as a couple, the journey that's been and still is
    • unconscious stress addiction and healing your nervous system
    • shedding the shame over the deep feminine healing we may choose to do
    • a bit more about the work Laura does with people

Themes: parenting, hypnotherapy, relationships, matrescence, nervous system care

We mention Nicky Denson-Elliot, Episode #20 of my podcast called 'Children Are Not Tamagotchis; How To Be Kinder To Yourself As A Mum', Alex Trippier, The Gottmans, and Florence Given.

At the end, I share a quote from Laura herself.

  • S2 #17 My Next Chapter of Mothering — And How I'm Terrified
    2026/06/30

Some big feelings have been coming up for me recently, over Matilda finishing up at primary school in a few weeks time(!).

I wanted to share this topic for my solo episode in case other Mums/parents relate and hearing my honest experience(s) may be somewhat soothing in the solidarity.

WARNING: At 9 minutes 40 seconds to 9 minutes 50 seconds I speak briefly of Father Christmas in case you listen around little ones!

In this episode I speak about:

    • parenting, the change for us both and being a sensitive person
    • filling our metaphorical cup so that we can give from a better place
    • my experience of the first year of secondary school
    • the support we've had from school
    • 'anticipatory grief' and naming our feelings

    Themes: parenting, grief, change, school

I mention Alex Trippier (Episode #10 of Series 2), Susan Cain and Lou Hynes.

At the end, I read a poem by Donna Ashworth called 'Backbones'.
