You don't develop discernment by spending your whole life studying everything that's false.

You develop discernment by becoming deeply familiar with what's true.

The more time you spend in God's Word, the easier it becomes to recognize teaching that doesn't fit.

Don't spend all your time studying counterfeits. Get familiar with the real thing.

The Bereans listened to Paul preach and still checked the Scriptures to see whether what he taught was true.

That’s not disrespect. That’s biblical discernment.

Don't build your theology around clips, quotes, traditions, personalities, or something you've always heard.

Listen carefully. Study humbly. Check the context.

Never let your confidence in a messenger become greater than your confidence in the Message.

Something can feel right and still be wrong.

God gave us emotions, but He never made our feelings the final authority for truth.

Sometimes biblical discernment means stopping and asking, “I know how I feel about this, but what does God say?”

When your feelings and God’s Word disagree, the Bible wins. Every time.

Just because something sounds spiritual doesn’t mean it came from God.

We hear sermons, podcasts, videos, reels, and opinions about Christianity every day. Some are solid. Some only sound solid.

So how do we know the difference?

Test what you hear against what God has already said. Our standard isn’t the messenger. It’s the Word of God.

Anybody can obey God for a day. The real question is whether we’ll still be obeying when the excitement wears off and following Jesus gets hard.

Paul reached the end of his road able to say, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”

    That’s faithfulness.

Obey when it’s easy. Obey when it’s hard. Stay in the Book. Stay on your knees. Stay close to Jesus. And when God speaks through His Word, obey.

It’s easy to say we love Jesus. But Jesus gave us a simple test: “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Love for Christ isn’t merely emotional. It produces obedience.

We don’t obey to earn salvation. Salvation is by grace through faith. We obey because we belong to Him.

Does the way you’re living look like you love Jesus?

  • No Substitute | Obedience Over Religion
    2026/08/26

    Welcome to Mornin’ Kids. ☀️

    Faith Talks. Tighten Your Walk.

God told Saul what to do, but Saul decided he had a better idea. Then he tried to dress his disobedience up as something spiritual.

We can attend church, sing, serve, give, and know all the right Christian words. None of those things gives us permission to deliberately ignore what God has said.

Religious activity is no substitute for obedience. Partial obedience is still disobedience.

Sometimes we want God to explain Himself before we obey Him.

But Noah built before the rain came. Abraham left without knowing where he was going. Peter stepped out of the boat because Jesus said, “Come.”

Faith doesn’t require having every answer. It requires trusting the One giving the directions.

If God said it, trust Him enough to obey it.
