  • Something Is Not Working - $7.78 Million Deficit

    In 2012, the current Mayor took office for his first term with a $9,000 surplus in the Employee Health Insurance Fund.

    In his first year this fund broke even with an ending balance of $0.

    The following year the fund went negative and never stopped.

    June 30th, 2023 the fund sat with a $7.78 Million Deficit!

  • $6,000,000 City Insurance Deficit

    A lack of transparency in government budgets eventually leads to major problems.  In a city the size of New Castle, it is the office of the Mayor that carries the greater part of the authority concerning the city government budget.  

    In this episode I bring you an ongoing issue that needs to change.  The result of current New Castle government budget practices, forced the city to carry a $6,000,000 deficit.  It is no secret that every government budget decision and all it's deficits are carried upon the shoulders of the taxpayer.
