    Matt Hughes is the Head Football Coach at West Branch High School in Iowa. A former Captain at the University of Iowa, Matt was an All Conference and Academic All American Linebacker at Iowa. After short stints in the NFL and Arena Football, Matt started his coaching career. He was an assistant that the University of South Dakota as well as the Head Coach at Clear Creek - Amana High School in Iowa before being hired at West Branch. Matt is the son of a long time football coach and has had the very rare opportunity to coach with his dad at both Clear Creek and now at West Branch. Matt exemplifies WHY High School coaches do what they do.
