Molle Mystery Theatre presents “Leg Man,” originally broadcast October 19, 1945. This was episode 3 of the series’ October 1945 Friday run, later circulated in an Armed Forces Radio Service Mystery Playhouse version as “Leg Man.” Bernard Lenrow hosts as mystery connoisseur Geoffrey Barnes.

Adapted from Cornell Woolrich’s short story “Leg Man,” written under his William Irish pseudonym, the drama begins with the murder of Big Mike behind his tavern bar. With two abandoned drinking glasses seemingly offering police an easy answer, a persistent newspaper leg man suspects the evidence points to something more complicated. The original NBC series was sponsored by Mollé Brushless Shaving Cream.

Molle Mystery Theatre presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
