  • Part 1: What are you learning about yourself as a teacher in different contexts? w/Jaiman
    2024/04/08

This is a two-part episode! It was so difficult to title today's episode because one sentence does not cover our introspective musings around teaching and education in this episode.

Jaiman, a leadership consultant, and former teacher talks about his background as a musician, and his roots as a teacher in what he now sees as "adult teaching" (aka consulting). His leadership facilitation and consulting takes him around the world and we think about how our students have formed us into the people we are today.

  • What will it take to change education? w/Arnelle Jones
    2024/03/25

Sit tight for today’s episode! There was no holding back in our conversation about education, school systems, government, and the community’s role in bringing education to a better place. What is it going to take to change education? The answers in this episode were all over the place in the best way. The answer may have less to do with the education sector than we think.

Some questions we considered are as follows:

    • What was schooling in its inception has it changed today in its purpose?

    • How do the other public sectors of society directly affect and respond to the education sector?

    • What do we understand about teenagers in schools, what drives them?

    • What lies have Gen Z seen in pursuing careers that have led their trajectory differently than ours?

    • How involved should the community be in public education?

What do we speculate the differences to be in the curriculum, and are teachers uncomfortable teaching histories that aren’t their own? Listen to catch the answers to this and so much more!
