Welcome back to the Hopkins Millers Weekly Podcast! We've had an action-packed week, starting with a 1-0 victory over WBL Jr. Legion 25’ in Game 34, a game that was called early due to severe thunderstorms in the area. Bodie Mongeau was stellar on the mound, and Colin Frodermann's first-inning groundout secured the lone run. Game 35 saw us triumph 5-4 over Junior Bloomington Post 550 17U, highlighted by Liam Cowley's complete game effort with seven innings pitched, and Morgan Paul's crucial single that tied the game. We then exploded for a 10-4 victory against the Rockford Jr Legion Rockets in Game 36, fueled by a six-run second inning and Will Johnston's phenomenal four-hit day, though he was unfortunately ejected in his last at-bat for arguing a called third strike. Our doubleheader against Excelsior Jr Legion Blue 259 was a tale of two games: a tough 10-0 loss in Game 37, followed by a resilient 2-1 victory in Game 38, where Alex Blee delivered a masterful six-inning scoreless outing. Notably, this 2-1 loss was Excelsior's only defeat to another Legion team all season. We capped off the week with a decisive 9-3 win over Eden Prairie Eagles Junior Legion 17U in Game 39, powered by an early four-run first inning and a dominant six-inning, zero-run pitching performance from Frank Huibregtse. What a fantastic end to the regular season for the Millers!
