  • Stop Treating Your Body Like the Enemy (The Real Love Story for February)
    2026/02/06

This February, forget everything you've been sold about love and romance. I want to talk about a different kind of love story: falling in love with your body.

When was the last time you thanked your body for carrying you through life? When did you last celebrate what your body can do instead of obsessing over how it looks?

For most of my life, I treated my body like an enemy. I avoided mirrors, wore baggy clothes, went on every diet, and did everything in my power to change myself. It was exhausting being at war with my own body.

But here's what transformed everything: I learned that my body was never the problem. It never was, and it never will be.

In this episode, I talk about three common myths about our bodies:

    • Your body is a problem to be fixed (spoiler: it's not)
    • You need to earn your body's worth (nope, you have inherent value right now)
    • Loving your body means always feeling confident (ha! not even close)

I'm chatting about body acceptance, what self-love looks like when it's messy and complicated, and why choosing to love your body in a world that profits from your shame is a radical act of rebellion.

Your body was never the problem. It never will be.

    Mentioned in Episode:
    • 30 Body Positive Affirmation Cards
    • 28-Day Self-Love Card Deck

both of those are for sale on Etsy

  • Getting Off the Floor at Fifty: Midlife Mobility Mishaps and Laughs
    2026/01/23

In this episode, I'm chatting aobut the humbling moment when my 50-year-old body staged a full on rebellion against me! What started as a simple task—sitting on the floor to dig through bottom dresser drawers—turned into a five-minute + struggle complete with grunting, cussing, tears, and a very confused dog who thought floor time meant playtime.

Between failed attempts to stand up and seriously considering calling 911 (or my fiancé, though the hour-long wait and lifetime of jokes made that option even worse), I found myself facing a wake-up call about mobility that I couldn't ignore.

Rather than spiraling into shame, I'm treating this experience as valuable data—a snapshot of where my body is right now and what might need attention for the future. I'm not looking at this as another "you're body is broken and needs fixing"... it simply means things have changed, and maybe it's time to explore some mobility work, stretching, or yoga to rebuild strength and flexibility.

Absolutely NO self-punishment or shame allowed! Just honest acknowledgment and curiosity about how to support my middled-aged body going forward.

This episode perfectly captures the messy, magical reality of midlife: bodies that don't move like they used to, moments that are both funny and frightening, and the reminder that we're all figuring this out as we go.

    Key Takeaways
    • Midlife bodies do weird crap– What used to be automatic (like getting up from the floor) may now require planning, patience, and possibly some creative problem-solving.
    • Mobility matters more than we realize– Being able to get down on the floor and back up again isn't just about fitness—it's about independence, safety, and being able to fully participate in life, whether that's reorganizing dresser drawers or playing with grandkids.
    • Humor and honesty can coexist with real concern– You can laugh at yourself while also taking the situation seriously. I find the humor in the struggle while also recognizing it as a wake-up call.
    • You're not alone in these moments– If your body has surprised, humbled, or frustrated you in midlife, you're in good company. These "when did this happen?" moments are part of the messy reality of aging, and sharing them helps everyone feel less isolated.
    • Our bodies deserve respect, even when they change– Even when our bodies don't do what they used to, they're still ours, still capable, and still deserving of kindness and appreciation for everything they still allow us to do.

  • When Your Body Lets You Down (or Feels Like It Does)
    2026/01/16

Being sick for 13 days has taken me on an emotional ride I wasn’t prepared for — frustration, anger, tears, anxiety, and everything in between. And there's even been an unexpected positive to this 13 day "plague" ;-)

Despite complaining, I have an important message/takeaway for you in today's episode!

  • Just Checking In - Happy New Year
    2026/01/09

Happy New Year! I'm sick so this week's episode isn't happening - at least the one I had planned. Instead, this is just a short "voice note" instead of a regular podcast episode. The takeaway from this little check-in is that you don't have to buy into any of this new year, new you bullcrap!

  • Perimenopause: The Unexpected Upside
    2025/12/19

In this episode, I talk about something I’ve been noticing a lot in perimenopause and menopause spaces, especially on Facebook. So much of the conversation focuses on what’s going wrong. While I believe we absolutely need space to talk about the hard stuff, I also realized I’d been getting stuck in that negative loop myself.

So instead of piling on more doom, I share seven positive things I’ve personally experienced during perimenopause. From having way fewer f***s to give, to standing up for myself with doctors, to stronger boundaries and a sharper intuition, this phase of life has brought some surprising upsides I don’t hear talked about enough.

If you’ve been feeling weighed down by the constant negativity around midlife, aging, and perimenopause, this episode is a reminder to zoom out and notice what’s actually getting better too. Because yes, perimenopause can be hard, but it can also be powerful.

    Key Takeaways

    • I’ve stopped people-pleasing and care far less about outside approval
    • I advocate for myself more, especially with my health
    • My periods are spacing out, which feels like a small miracle
    • My intuition and boundaries are stronger than ever
    • Rest is non-negotiable in midlife and I finally honor that

I'm always looking for other middle-aged women to shoot the sh*t with! If you're interested in being a guest, fill out the form here.

  • Why Being 'Too Much' Is Actually Your Superpower
    2025/12/12

In this episode, I chat about being labeled “too ___” (too loud, too emotional, too big,, etc.) and why those very traits you were told to shrink are actually your superpowers in midlife.

Tune in for a blend of humor, honesty, and midlife truth-telling as I share my own journey from shrinking to shining and I invite invites you to embrace the unapologetic, one-of-a-kind woman you are.

It's my hopes that this episode is the "permission" you've been waiting for to let your 'freak' flag fly... in other words, reclaim the quirks, feelings, and all those "too much" labels you may have tucked away for years. You, my midlife friend, are magical just as you are!

  • The Power of No (walking away from an opportunity)
    2025/12/05

In this episode of Midlife Shenanigans with Tish, I’m spilling the tea on an opportunity that landed in my inbox… and why I am saying no to something I literally journaled about wanting in 2026.

I'm talking gut instincts, self-trust, midlife clarity, and the power of saying no. I also share the exact email I received about this opportunity I'm choosing to walk away from.

If you’ve ever wrestled with a big decision, questioned whether fear or intuition was running the show, or wondered when to say yes vs. when to walk away, this episode is for you. This is midlife empowerment in real time — messy, honest, and surprisingly freeing!
