EPISODE 69 - Lord of the Rings
The Fellowship of the Ring - Part 1

It's a long form series in which the guys are talking about another epic trilogy. This time they are breaking it all up for a series of movies that will take us into the upcoming holiday season. Tim, Matt and Rick have banded together under a fellowship if you will to discuss the Peter Jackson epics The Lord of the Rings.

Matt tells us the intro to the world of Middle earth and the third age of mankind. We then dive into the world that Peter Jackson brought to life from the writings and imagination of J.R.R. Tolkien. Tim tells us the first time he ever heard of the series the Lord of the Rings as well as it's influence on his gaming life.
Rick tells us about he first time he even heard of these movies as well as the tales that he first read as a teen and into his twenties. Rick also tells us what influences he has gotten from these stories and how he uses them in his gaming life.

Matt runs us through the film all the way to up to when Frodo and the gang meet the most interesting character of Strider. While Rick points out the many times Pippin uses his backwards luck to advance the plot of the story.

Rick tells us the first time he got to read the VHS box art for this film and was the hero to grab the rental in his household. Meanwhile, Tim and Matt travel down memory lane to tell when they first watch the film on the good ole VCR.

    EPISODE 67 - Mad Max
    (G'Day Mate!)

It's another look at a Dystopian future, but this time its with some friend from the land down under. That's right the boys are joined by Whitey and Gow from the Born to Watch Podcast. The five panelists each give their opinions on a classic from late 70's as they discuss Mad Max.

Matt gives a rather unusual synopsis sounding a little like an Aussie, but noooootttt quiet. Tim and Rick tell us when they each first saw Mad Max and it will surprise you who hasn't seen it before. Meanwhile, Whitey and Gow explain to us how this film is forever ingrained into their pasts.

Along with the film, we are given a lesson in Australian economics and how shoes are a sign of opulence. Find out this and so much more in this episode of Middle Age Movie Reviews Podcast.
