April 26, 2026 ~ April is sexual assault awareness month. Over 420,000 Americans ages 12 and up experience sexual abuse each year, according to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, Nearly every minute, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted. Every nine minutes, that someone is a child. Melanie Richards, director of the Kids Talk Children's Advocacy Center, joins Michigan Voices.
