Meridian is waking up to another beautiful day in the Treasure Valley, with plenty to talk about from the last 24 hours. According to Idaho News 6, skies have been clear and dry across the Valley, and that trend continues. KIVI's 7 day forecast calls for afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s around Meridian with overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s, and virtually no chance of rain. Windy.app's Meridian forecast shows light northerly breezes between about 2 and 11 miles per hour and clear skies, so it's a great day to be outside. If you are stepping out, Weather Underground's Meridian air quality and health page reports conditions in the good range with comfortable temperatures around the low 70s. That means the air is generally safe for most listeners to enjoy outdoor activities. Pollen levels are seasonally active, so allergy sufferers may still want to keep the antihistamines close, but nothing extreme is being flagged right now. On the high school sports front, the Idaho Statesman has full coverage of the Idaho high school state track and field championships at Mountain View High in Meridian. In the 6A boys team race, Mountain View claimed the title with 103 points, followed by Capital with 87 and Rigby with 83.5. Boise took fourth with 62 and Rocky Mountain rounded out the top five with 61. Meridian High tied Highland with 25 points, while schools like Kuna, Ridgevue, and Post Falls filled out the standings just behind them. The 5A and 6A meets kept the Mountain View track buzzing all weekend, showcasing some of the fastest sprinters and strongest throwers in the state. Girls flag football also made local history. Idaho News 6 reports that Boise hosted the Treasure Valley's first ever all girls high school flag football championship game. Centennial dominated the title matchup, rolling past Rocky Mountain 50 to 6 to grab the inaugural crown. From sunshine and clean air to championship performances and milestone moments in girls sports, Meridian and the surrounding Treasure Valley have packed a lot into the last day.
