Hey there, I'm Julia Cartwright, and welcome to Relaxation. I'm so glad you're here on this Monday morning. I know that early August energy—it's this funny mix of summer still being here but that little voice whispering about all the things waiting for you. So today, we're going to do something simple but genuinely restorative. Nothing complicated. Just you, your breath, and about five minutes of permission to let your shoulders drop and your jaw unclench. Let's start by getting comfortable. Whether you're sitting, lying down, or even standing in your kitchen with coffee in hand, find a position where your body feels supported. You don't need to be perfect here. This isn't yoga class. This is just you, being kind to yourself. Now, place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Notice the temperature of your hands. Notice what your body is telling you right now. Is there tension anywhere? Don't fix it yet. Just say hello to it, like you're acknowledging an old friend who's been carrying something heavy. Here's what we're going to do together. I want you to try what I call the Melting Breath technique. Picture your breath like warm honey, moving slowly through your body. Breathe in for a count of four through your nose. That's one, two, three, four. Feel that cool air entering. Now hold it for just two counts. Then exhale through your mouth for six counts. Make it audible. Let it out like a sigh of relief. One, two, three, four, five, six. Again. Inhale, cool and steady. Hold it. Exhale, long and warm like you're releasing something you've been holding all morning. This longer exhale activates your parasympathetic nervous system. That's the fancy way of saying your body knows it's safe now. Let's do this together three more times. Inhale, hold, exhale. Inhale, hold, exhale. One more. Inhale, hold, exhale. Notice what's different. Your heartbeat might feel slower. Your mind might feel just a touch quieter. That's relaxation. It's not about being asleep or checked out. It's about being present and at ease at the same time. Here's how to carry this into your Monday. When you feel that afternoon slump or someone sends you a message that makes your stomach tight, pause. Do three rounds of the Melting Breath. Three rounds takes about ninety seconds. You've got ninety seconds. Thank you so much for spending this time with me today. If this practice landed for you, please subscribe and share it with someone who needs permission to relax. You're doing great. Truly. For great deals today, check out https://amzn.to/47ZqpWT
