Her work focuses mainly on the subconscious, spiritual, or internal realms of the ‘unseen’. Maria aims to make these unseen realms visible by translating her visionary experiences into detailed paintings. She is adept with experience of working with and accessing visionary realms through altered states like dream time and meditation from which most of the subject matter of her artwork comes. Her work also draws much inspiration from her avid interests in myth, mysticism, science & spirituality, nature, and astrology. Her latest body of work is focused upon the stories in Irish mythology, the Deities, Gods & Goddesses, ancient Irish tradition, and the Celtic wheel.
