• S2 E6 | How to deal with trolls with Lea Turner
    2025/12/16

Lea Turner burst onto the LinkedIn scene in 2019, transforming her small transcription business through humorous, relatable, and uplifting social media posts that garnered rapid attention over a very short time, and received hundreds of new inbound clients thanks to her consistent presence on LinkedIn.

Due to countless requests, she started showing others how to do the same and charging for it, which resulted in her shutting down the transcription business to offer LinkedIn training full time to individuals and companies globally.

In five years, she has grown her social media following to over 200k across platforms, spoken on UK and international stages, scaled her LinkedIn training to multi-6 figures and grown a global paid membership community (The HoLT) to nearly 600 members……all whilst juggling solo parenthood to her joyful little boy, needy dog, and demanding cats. She's also on the board of trustees for Hope4, a charity passionately supporting human and animal victims of poverty, domestic violence, trafficking and conflict.

Today Lea and I have a chat about how to deal with trolling and how to turn it into something that works for you. Both of us have had to learn to overcome this obstacle as so many successful entrepreneurs do and so we wanted to share with you how we see it, so that you never let trolling stop your visibility.

At my latest event, I decided to do a live podcast episode where I talked to one of the people I have been following since the start of my own business journey, Carrie Green. We talked about the juggle of motherhood and business, how both of our businesses have changed and how to navigate ambition with the realities of living a busy full life. It's such a real and raw inspirational episode and I loved our conversation.

  • S2 E3 | How to not fall prey to the scams in the online industry with Emma Cooper
    2025/11/25

    Trigger Warning: Suicide talk

In this episode, I sit down with Emma Cooper, a business coach that has been in the industry as long as I have, to discuss how easy it is to be manipulated as a buyer in the industry.

It's so easy to lose money to suppliers that don't deliver but looking back we both can see red flags we should have spotted and it's time to share these so that it becomes simpler for buyers to do their due diligence.

In this episode you'll learn what to look out for so that you can be confident in your purchases and we'll also look at how buying has changed in the last couple of years online.

Emma built her first million-pound business as a pregnant police officer—and never looked back. Now, after scaling multiple seven-figure businesses, she helps entrepreneurs grow faster, smarter, and without the fluff. Emma believes in action over theory, clarity over complexity, and real results over hype.

  • S2 E2 | Resilience after a very public mistake with rogue trader, Nick Leeson
    2025/11/18

In this episode I sat down with Nick Leeson, the trader known for bringing down the oldest bank in history. Like many I'd watched the film Rogue Trader, based on Nick's autobiographical book and had questions about resilience and how you build a life and a legacy after such a huge public mistake.

I also wanted to speak to Nick about the work he does now – helping people like me who have been the victims of fraud and how he got to be in this position after being arguably, one of the most famous fraudsters himself. The collapse of Barings Bank and Nick Leeson's role in it is one of the most spectacular debacles in financial history, leading to a stay in a Singapore prison for Nick.

Three decades on, Mr Leeson continues to use his experiences to deliver a cautionary tale on the environment that led to the downfall of the bank, as well as his personal views on the current state of the economy and finance industry, and insights on risk management, company culture and mental well-being. In this episode you'll learn about how to move on, what legacy really means and also some tips on how to spot online frauds today.

  • S2 E1 | What we're really saying when it comes to inclusion online with Regina Martin and Lindsay McGlone
    2025/11/11

In this episode, I sit down with Regina Martin and Lindsay McGlone, two business friends of mine who are very vocal and bold about what we're missing when it comes to inclusion in the online space.

I wanted to ask those questions that we hear in spaces that they aren't in – many of us have seen the eye rolls, felt frustrated by the increasing need to consider more and more in our stage lineups and often feel like we're never doing enough. I wanted to talk openly in a non judgemental space about these issues and so that's exactly what we did.

In this episode, you'll gain more of an understanding of what's important when it comes to inclusion and why with practical tips on where to start.

Lindsay McGlone is an Instagram strategist who helps business owners, get better reach, engagement and make more sales through Instagram. Lindsay boldly states that no one teaches Instagram like they do, adding perspective as an influencer. She teaches creative ways to use the platform that makes you stand out in the crowd, that go beyond vanity metrics. Making sure that Instagram is the place that you create leads, convert and sell time and time again. https://www.instagram.com/rollinwithlindsay_

Regina Martin is a Visibility Strategist and founder of The NETwork, an inclusive community redefining how entrepreneurs connect and get seen. With her signature blend of brand strategy, web design, and confidence coaching, Regina helps visionary founders build magnetic online presences that turn visibility into genuine opportunity. Passionate about making business spaces more authentic and inclusive, she empowers entrepreneurs to shine unapologetically, elevate their digital impact, and grow through connection, confidence, and community. https://www.instagram.com/the_regina_martin

  • 165 The final episode - At Home with The Johnsons
    2024/07/29

This is the final episode of Making Money Online! Instead of the usual business topics I am using this episode to give you all a preview of my new podcast which is launching very soon - At Home with the Johnsons.

Today I will be talking with none other than my husband and co-host of the new podcast - Sam. We touch on a few topical issues to give you a taste of what's to come on At Home with The Johnsons.

What we cover in this episode:

    - Why it's important to have an opinion and share it with the world through healthy debate

    - How cancel culture and being offended seems to affect even the most seemingly innocent discussions and prevents us from expressing opinions and having conversions and debates

    - The importance of going to the original source and forming your own opinion about what other people have said rather than using 2nd or 3rd hand accounts

    - Lisa and Sam's (slightly) differing opinions on smartphone free childhood and how they approach smartphone use within their family

    Resources:

    - Listen to the new Podcast, At Home with The Johnsons - launching soon. There will also be a Facebook group where we will encourage discussion and healthy debate without fear of being cancelled!
