Welcome to Mad Ghoul Radio!

This is where eerie electronic beats collide with the spine-chilling echoes of horror cinema. A space for music lovers, film fanatics, and anyone drawn to the darker side of life.

With a collection of over 5000 records, 4000 CDs, and 6 terabytes of music files, you'll find everything from electronic and industrial, to library music, soundtracks, metal, dance beats, and jazz. Expect album reviews, deep dives into obscure tracks, and discussions about the music that deserves more attention.

On the film side — it’s pure horror obsession. With a collection of over 5000 films, you’ll get in-depth reviews, recommendations, and passionate debates about the best (and worst) the genre has to offer.

Beyond music and movies, this page is fueled by a love for Halloween, ghost hunting, dark tourism, vinyl collecting, and even the occasional conversation about wine, Scotch, and life as a hospital CEO.

I'm also proud to announce that Mad Ghoul Radio is now part of the Prescribed Films Podcast Network (PFPN) — a community dedicated to supporting independent creators and horror fans everywhere.

This isn’t just a page — it’s a community. A place where end-of-year lists, new finds, and old favorites spark real conversations. Where the beats are infectious, the scares are thrilling, and the passion is real.

Join us! Let's celebrate the music, the movies, and the madness together.

Episode 29: Freeform From the Chaos

The Mad Ghoul is back in the basement after a noisy couple of weeks. Life has been upside down, schedules have been wrecked, and the crates have been calling. So this week there is no theme, no concept, no structure. Just a freeform night built from tracks the Ghoul has not dusted off in far too long.

The show opens with a classic cue from the original Nightmare on Elm Street, then drifts into a mix of forgotten electronic experiments, cosmic festival relics, fuzz drenched rock, and a few deep cuts from scenes that never got their proper due. Think of it like pulling up a chair while the Ghoul drags out an old crate and says, “Here. Let me play you something I used to love.”

The selections range from digital fever dreams to psychedelic world grooves to sharp alternative blasts and late night lounge gems. A brand new electro track also sneaks into the set as a reminder that the future is still humming along in the wires.

The show closes with Trent, as it should. And yes, the Ghoul shares some excitement about a rare Rock and Roll Hall of Fame signed piece that finally made its way into the collection.

A loose, nostalgic, chaotic episode for the holiday week. Press play, turn down the lights, and sink into the freeform.

Episode 28 - Electronic Body Music (EBM) Prevails.....

We crack the night with Aminadav Aloni’s “The Awakening” from the lost 1974 film Once... Slow build... Candles up... Room on edge... The ritual starts.

From there the set follows the bloodstream into EBM and industrial territory. Detroit crate finds slide into Wax Trax lore. City Club memories bubble up with that familiar fog and concrete heat. It is the lineage in motion, not a museum tour. Tight sequences... Cold synths... Human sweat.

Shapeshifters returns with an industrial bruiser facing a disco classic. You decide which version takes the crown. We also resurface a cornerstone track from a Vancouver powerhouse and let it throb the floor the way it used to at 2 a.m. The close is an early-era NIN mix that holds the tempo while the lights fall, perfect for the last slow walk to the door.

If you live for sequenced basslines, and that snap when European minimalism hits Midwest dance floors, this one is for you. Press play, keep the volume brave, and tell a friend who knows the difference between eyeliner and attitude.
