March 21, 2026: Once again, Tom Izzo and Michigan State advance to the Sweet 16 and win the second game of the weekend. This time, a solid - but far from perfect - game over Louisville 77-69 send the Spartans to Washington, DC and two games away from another Final Four. It was a game where MSU committed a lot of turnovers and gave Louisville extra possessions to score which kept this a much closer game than it might have been.

The game was only a 5 point lead for MSU at the half but they maintained a 2-3 possession lead most of the second half. It wasn’t until - while up 8 - that Jaxon Kohler was fouled, had it upgraded to a flagrant and after free throws and a 3 had the Spartans up 13 and sort of put away the game. Coen Carr probably had his best game of his career with 21 points, 10 rebounds, a block, 2 steals, and 2-4 from 3 point range. Also, Jeremy Fears had a double double with 12 points and 17 assists.
