Harris Isbell dosed seven Black men with LSD every day for seventy-seven consecutive days — four times the normal dosage. He published the data in 1956 under his own name. Every MK Ultra documentary left this out.

Sidney Gottlieb reported for work at the CIA on July 13, 1951. Within two years he controlled MK Ultra — 149 subprojects, 80 institutions, zero legal oversight. His contractor in Kentucky was Harris Isbell, research director at the Addiction Research Center in Lexington.
Isbell's test subjects were predominantly Black men being treated for heroin addiction. He developed a points system: cooperation earned heroin or morphine. They were never told what drug they were being given. Isbell's 1956 peer-reviewed article shows Black patients received more than twice the LSD dosage given to white patients. That is in the published article. Not in a leaked file.

The most extreme experiment lasted seventy-seven days. Seven men. LSD every single day at four times the normal dosage. When they fell asleep, Isbell used electroshock to wake them. He needed them conscious for the data. The same year, Sidney Gottlieb put LSD in the after-dinner drinks at a CIA retreat at Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. One of those researchers was Army biochemist Frank Olson. Nine days later, Olson went through a window on the 13th floor of the Statler Hotel in New York City.

In 1973, Richard Helms ordered every MK Ultra record destroyed. Twenty years of experiments, gone. Ten boxes of financial records survived — misfiled in a different department, discovered by journalist John Marks through FOIA. Those ten boxes are why we know Lexington happened. Sidney Gottlieb testified before Congress under the alias Joseph Schneider and was granted immunity. He was never charged. The seven men from Lexington have no names in any surviving document.
