Lux Radio Theatre presents “Mister Blandings Builds His Dream House,” episode 671, originally broadcast on CBS on October 10, 1949. Cary Grant reprises his film role as New York advertising man Jim Blandings, with Irene Dunne as his wife, Muriel, in this adaptation of Eric Hodgins’s novel and the 1948 RKO film.

Tired of their cramped Manhattan apartment, Jim and Muriel buy what seems to be an affordable country property in Connecticut. But when the old house proves less practical than expected, their hopeful plans for a dream home lead to a lively comedy of construction, advice, and escalating complications.
