What do you do when life gives you a second chance?
In this episode of The Greaterverse, Anne-Marie speaks to Louise Pritchard about unimaginable loss, a life-saving liver transplant, and the decision to truly live.
After losing her twins and facing a devastating health crisis, Louise was given a donor liver and a second chance at life. In a letter to her donor's family, she made a promise: she would look after this gift of life and live it to the fullest.
Since then, Louise has completed 320 races, raised £350,000 for charity and competed in the Transplant Games. Her belief in the power of sport also runs through her work with Special Olympics Great Britain.
In this conversation, you will learn:
- How Louise navigated profound grief and trauma
- What it meant to receive the gift of a donor liver
- How sport took Louise from transplant recipient to Transplant Games competitor
- Why running became her therapy and a non-negotiable part of her life
- How Louise has used her experiences and the power of sport to make a difference for others
