  • 482. How To Recover From A Bad Homeschool Day
    2026/08/31

It might be hard to imagine at the beginning of the homeschool year, but there will be hard days at times. Maybe even ones you'd call "bad." And it doesn't matter how long you've been homeschooling. Rough days are inevitable, no matter how much you plan, pivot, and work on attitudes.

Now that we know there will be some bad days, what is done in light of that bad day, is what is important.

These types of days can be turned into good for our homeschool when you learn how to recover from it.

Let's get you prepared so you can recover well and quickly...

  • 481. "Mom, I'm Hungry!" Is Meal Time Sucking the Joy Out Of Your Motherhood? Simple Steps To Change This
    2026/08/27

There is a phenomenon that occurs in homeschool households across the world every day. And you would think we, as homeschool moms, would have embraced it with zeal and excitement.

Well, maybe you have, but I certainly did not.

It's called: everyone needs {and wants} to eat again.

So here you are, back in the kitchen providing another meal or snack. And it is sucking the last bit of joy out of you.

As I'll share in this episode, this was me every single day. And I want to share a few tips that helped me get out of the cycle.

Grab a pen and paper to jot these down and then see which will make the biggest impact for your family right now and begin making those changes that will lighten the load a little bit.

  • 480. At The End Of Homeschool, What Really Matters?
    2026/08/24

Every great mission begins with a vision for what it plans to accomplish. And this applies to homeschool.

You didn't just randomly choose to swim upstream against the current and do something different than the culture at large on a whim. No, you had your reasons.

But somewhere along the way, it's so easy for homeschool moms to get lost in the weeds of homeschool and lose sight of what you are aiming for.

Today's episode is all about helping you refocus and get back on track towards your target by asking what really matters when it's all said and done. My hope is that this gives you inspiration as you begin this new homeschool year.

  • 479. You Have To Domesticate Your Homeschool Children
    2026/08/20

As a homeschool mom with three graduates and a front row seat to older teens and young adults, I can see first hand the benefit of taking the time when our children are young to teach them specific habits and skills.

    Does it take longer? Yes.

Will it sometimes be frustrating? Yes.

Do you only do the easy things as a parent? No.

Today's episode is my {insert dramatic sigh} plea to see the opportunity of homeschool beyond the academics. Consider this an opportunity to shift some priorities and take a look at the big picture of launching your kids out into the world.

Guess what? They're going to grow up and be out on their own in the world someday. There is no stopping that. But what if they could be "domesticated?" I believe it will benefit them and others greatly.

Grab that iced tea and let's chat!

  • 477. Stuck In Feeling Overwhelmed With Your Homeschool Life? 3 Steps To Get Out Of The Cycle
    2026/08/13

When you think about homeschool, your mind most likely goes straight to curriculum, co-ops, field trips, and so on. And that is totally understandable, as it is a part of homeschool.

But, take a step back and look at the big picture of homeschooling. It's not just the education of particular subjects, but more like an entire way of living.

Beyond the home education, moms have a lot to factor in. Things like meals, naps, discipleship, bed times, routines, sports, church, friendships, holidays, vacations and on and on.

All of these things combined can feel overwhelming, so I thought it would be good to bring this up as you begin a brand new homeschool year. Let's get out of feeling overwhelmed so you aren't fried and exhausted at the end of each day.

Let's have a chat about it...
