Initially part of the Ateneo Innovation Center (AIC), the lab transitioned to the Department of Physics in January 2020. It was conceptualized in 2017 by Dr. Benjamin Dingel, an affiliate professor at the Department of Physics, ARISE Research Fellow, and Senior Research Scientist with AIC. The lab operates remotely, a model established nearly three years before the Covid-19 pandemic, making it probably the first "purely-online physics research group" at Ateneo.
