Libby Protzman sits down with award-winning technology entrepreneur, inventor, and domestic violence survivor Rafael TestAI, founder and CEO of StatuteFINDER, a nonprofit artificial-intelligence platform designed to help survivors, advocates, and first responders locate relevant domestic violence statutes and better understand their legal rights.
Rafael shares how his personal experience with domestic violence inspired him to teach himself artificial-intelligence programming and build technology that could prevent other survivors from falling through the cracks. StatuteFINDER allows users to describe a situation and identify potentially relevant laws within seconds, helping advocates provide clearer information and empowering survivors as they interact with law enforcement, courts, and legal-service providers.
The conversation also explores Rafael’s remarkable career in technology and innovation. He earned an honors degree in genetics, worked as a mechanical design engineer on medical-device projects, trained thousands of professionals in SolidWorks and computer-aided design, and previously created and sold the EventKey mobile application. In 2016, he was recognized as Best Hispanic Entrepreneur of the Year for his work launching EventKey.
Listen as Libby and Rafael discuss survivor-centered technology, artificial intelligence, legal-information access, entrepreneurship, and the urgent need to help domestic violence survivors recognize and assert their rights.
