Introduction Leviticus has been teaching us how sinful people can approach a holy God. But beginning in chapter 17, the emphasis shifts. God is no longer speaking primarily about sacrifices and ceremonies, but about everyday living. Israel had been redeemed, cleansed, and forgiven. Now they were called to reflect God's character in the way they lived. Holiness is not merely found at the altar—it is seen in our homes, our relationships, our words, and our actions. "Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy." — Leviticus 19:2
A. Relationship God had redeemed Israel to be His people. "I am the LORD your God..." — Leviticus 19:3
B. Responsibility Those who belong to God are called to live differently. "Ye shall therefore keep my statutes..." — Leviticus 20:8
C. Reflection Our lives should reflect the character of the God we serve. "Be ye holy; for I am holy." — Leviticus 19:2
