How would you like to learn to pray better?

Imagine being able to stand beside someone God Himself calls wise, someone who understood things like worship, leadership, repentance, and the presence of God, and simply listen as he pours out his heart before the Lord.

Well, we have that opportunity. Because in 2 Chronicles 6, we are given the longest prayer recorded anywhere in the Bible.

But this prayer is not ritualistic in any way. It is not a formality, and it is certainly not a speech for the benefit of those listening. It is a window into the heart of a man who understood God’s holiness, God’s faithfulness, and God’s mercy, and who understood what it means to seek God in prayer.

So today, we’re going to listen to Solomon pray. We’re going to walk through his words, and we’re going to ask, What can this wise man teach us about prayer? What does his prayer reveal about God, and how can his example shape our own prayer life today.
