  • Episode #5: Getting Angry, Dealing with Conflict, and Family Culture
    2023/12/27

Is it ever ok to get angry?

What do a black blob and resolving marital conflict have in common?

Is making a "family" culture at work healthy?

This monologue is inspired by recent conversations and experiences about leadership and how to effectively inspire people when "the going gets tough".

We talk about the movie Miracle, Herb Brooks, Spiderman, Venom, Jesus, Russell Nelson, Spencer Kimball, Simon Sinek, Jordan Peterson, and more.

  • Episode #4: Culture Definition -- How to Become a Culture King
    2023/12/15

If your team is struggling right now, or you feel like "the way things are done around here" at work suck -- look no further. We dive into what culture actually is (not just what it's trendy definition on social media) and how to make it better.

We also talk about why improving your culture will improve your business faster than improving your strategy or operations, how culture is like personality, tactical cultural transformation, and more.

As always, we make culture analogous to Steph Curry along with Elon Musk, Steve Kerr, the Miami Heat, Apple, McKinsey & Company, MIT, and Edgar Schein.

    Enjoy!

  • Episode #3: What to Do When I Fail?
    2023/09/20

Episode 3 deviates from the Leadership from Scratch framework and instead considers a topic we all wrestle with at some point: how to deal with failure.

We first put together the recipe for certain failure -- things like not measuring progress, stopping after one bad experience, being inconsistent, and trying to avoid frustration.

And then (of course) we lay out actionable tools that can be applied when faced with failure to use it to your advantage. By implementing these tools you will learn why you should SEEK failure, for without failure we will all surely fail -- is that clear as mud?

As always there are some fun nuggets in here from Kobe Bryant, Jordan Peterson, Alex Hormozi, Chris Williamson, Andrew Huberman, Alia Crum, and Carol Dweck.

    Hope this helps!
