What happens when you're the threat to your own survival. Making ourselves a priority by addressing the threats that come from within starts the conversation. A podcast focused on caring and improving the lives for those that give of themselves when there is nothing left to give. Although the program is primarily centered around the first responder, the life lessons and struggles are universal in nature. The program addresses and looks to improve the lives of first responders by addressing our personal, professional, financial, physical and mental health. Historically difficult conversations to have are normalized and stigmas associated with asking for help are removed.© 2025 Law Enforcement Life Coach / Sometimes Heroes Need Help Podcast 心理学 心理学・心の健康 衛生・健康的な生活

  • Helping The Helpers, The Clinician's Guide to First Responder Mental Wellness with David Dachinger & Bonnie Rumilly
    2025/10/20

This week I had the great opportunity to sit down with friends David Dachinger and Bonnie Rumilly, two amazing humans that are doing great things for our first responder community. When I initially entered this space they were some of the first to welcome me with open arms.

Producing their own first responder podcast, Responder Resilience wasn't enough apparently. David , Bonnie and their co-host Dr Stacy Raymond had to take this initiative one step further with the creation of " Helping the Helpers, The Clinician's Guide to First Responder Mental Wellness".

What a resource for those that care about this community and wan to more effectively serve it. This book allows everyone that interacts with the first responder community to be more effective in their attempts to reach, and more importantly, positively impact the members of this community that have often had to go about their wellness journey alone.

  • Jay Gruben / Resilience Under Fire
    2025/10/06

This week I had the opportunity to sit down with Jay Gruben, founder of Resilience Under Fire. Jay and I discuss how we bring the body and the brain back into balance after a traumatic event, getting you to respond and not react, thats one of many goals. Sit back and give this episode a listen and come away intrigued and better prepared to be an advocate for your own mental health and wellbeing.

    More about Jay

I help people who live and lead under pressure learn how to stabilize their nervous system after high stress moments, individual crisis, and community crisis, and return to clarity (take the armor off) when it matters most, when you’re off shift, with your family or friends, and not working.

As the founder of Resilience Under Fire, I teach science backed tools that I’ve mastered through training with renowned scientists, somatic practitioners, and many others, tools that bring the body and brain back into balance even when life feels intense or unpredictable. My work draws from neuroscience, physiology, kinesiology, biology, behavioral science, and human performance research. But I am not the academic, and this is not an academic program. I speak to people who didn’t go to school for this with master’s degrees or doctorates. What I share is postdoctoral-level information integrated with common sense and delivered in common tongue.

The goal isn’t to avoid stress, it’s to work with your system so it learns how to balance survival brain dominance. When people understand their body’s signals, they stop reacting from impulse and start making decisions with a clearer mind.

If you’re seeking ways to build calm under pressure, strengthen emotional awareness, and create stability in yourself or your team, that’s what Resilience Under Fire is built for:
    Rise. Rebuild. Reclaim.
