    The biggest game takes place on Saturday afternoon as the Laois footballers face Down in O'Moore Park at 4pm.

    This is the quarter final of the Tailteann Cup and Alan plus Steven go through who they think is in contention to start.

    The Laois camogie team are in action on the same day away to Westmeath while the Ladies are away to Wexford on Sunday.

    It is a massive weekend for GAA and the Pick and Mix Podcast is here to look ahead to it.

    With Steven Miller still on his holidays, Alan Hartnett is joined by Barry McEvoy.

    The pair begin with the biggest match of the weekend – the Joe McDonagh Cup final.

    Laois and Carlow are set to do battle in Croke Park on Saturday and the lads discuss the likely starting 15 plus how they expect the game to pan out.

    The Laois camogie team and the Ladies footballers are both in All-Ireland action in O’Moore Park this weekend.

    While it is a big couple of days in the ACHL Division 1.

    Two trips to London, two Laois wins. No more than anybody expected but jobs well done by the Laois footballers and hurlers.

    The Laois hurlers now have a Joe McDonagh Cup final to look forward to for the third year running - they'll face Carlow in Croke Park on Saturday, June 6.

    The Laois footballers are now two from two in the Joe McDonagh Cup and have a home quarter-final (or a home preliminary quarter-final against New York) to plan for.

    The Laois camogie team are up and running in the All Ireland intermediate championship. Can we start planning multiple trips to Croke Park?

  • Steven's right of reply | Two trips to London | Camogie and minor football | Another rant

    The Pick and Mix Podcast is back and we have an extremely busy weekend of action to preview.

    But first and foremost - Steven Miller, after being banned from the Laois Hurling Podcast, gives his right of reply to manager Tommy Fitzgerald after the Laois boss was unhappy with comments made on this Podcast in relation to Down.

    After that, the lads look ahead to the hurlers against London where a result will guarantee a Joe McDonagh Cup final place.

    The camogie team begin their All-Ireland campaign at home to Carlow on Sunday while the minor footballers are in an All-Ireland Tier 3 semi final on Saturday against Antrim.

    Alan is making the trip to Ruislip on Saturday where the Laois footballers will take on London and he looks ahead to that Tailteann Cup game.

    We conclude with a Steven Miller rant on the proposal to change age grades in Laois for 2027.

    The Joe McDonagh Cup clash between Laois and Down in O'Moore Park this Saturday is the big game of the weekend and is essentially a semi-final in the competition.
    Laois have comfortably gotten the better of Down in each of the past three seasons - with an average winning margin of 32 points. Surely to God, they can't lose now?
    Also up for discussion are the club leagues, club transfers, the minor footballers progress in Tier 3 of the All Ireland championship and Alan takes on Emo in this week's 30-second challenge.

    While the Laois camogie team will contest a Leinster Intermediate final on Sunday at the same venue against the same opponents.

    The Laois footballers are out on Sunday as they begin their Tailteann Cup journey at home to Wicklow.

    The Laois minor footballers are also in action on Saturday as they face Limerick in Round 1 of the All-Ireland Tier 3.

    While there is also set to be a significant weekend of club league action in ACFL Division 1 and 2.

    The Pick and Mix Podcast is here to look back at a wide and varied weekend of GAA action involving Laois teams.

    Steven and Alan start by looking back at the fall out from the heavy loss for the Laois ladies on Saturday.

    Laois were beaten 5-12 to 0-4 by Westmeath and manager Stephen Duff has since departed from the role.

    The day in Mullingar did start better as the Laois U-16s claimed Leinster B glory by defeating Dublin.

    But the rest of the weekend brought more bad news with the minor and U-20 hurlers both eliminated off the back of big defeats.

    We have the second installment of our new quiz as Steven takes on naming players from Abbeyleix - with only a slightly better performance than Alan.

    This is a jam packed episode of the Pick and Mix Podcast where Alan and Steven have plenty to talk about.

    Up first though is some correspondence from a disgruntled member of the O'Dempsey's club who was mistakenly put down as a Portarlington player in a recent match report!

    The second item on the agenda is something we don't want to see coming back again - Walkover Wusses.

    After all the giving out, it is on to the action for the May Bank Holiday weekend ahead of us.

    The Laois Ladies senior and U-16 teams are in Westmeath on Saturday while the Laois minor hurlers are in O'Moore Park.

    The Laois U-20 hurlers and the Laois Minor Camogie team are in action on Bank Holiday Monday.

    While the lads also discuss the upcoming O'Moore Og and Setanta football and hurling programmes.
