Host Diarmuid Kearney is joined again by regulars Clare Owens (Leitrim) and Joanne Doonan (Fermanagh) to unpack all the events from the weekend.

We have three new All Ireland Champions, and plenty to breakdown from the various finals, on our final episode of Season 1 of the podcast.

In the Junior decider, redemption was the story of the day for Louth, 12 months after suffering defeat in the TG4 All Ireland Junior decider, they delivered a pulsating second half performance to defeat Antrim in headquarters.

Afterwards we heard from captain Áine Breen and sharpshooter Kate Flood, who announced her retirement shortly after proceedings. We also heard from Antrim manager Chris Scullion who shared his thoughts after their first defeat of the year.

Redemption was also the story for Tyrone, where a late goal from super sub Katie Rose Muldoon helped ignite a late flurry which ensured that Tyrone did not leave empty handed this year, as they defeated Laois in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Final.

Afterwards we heard from captain Aoibhinn McHugh, player of the match and teenage sensation Sorcha Gormely along with Meabh Corrigan, while manager Darren McCann also shared his thoughts.

And finally in the Senior decider, it was seventh heaven for Dublin, as they delivered a tour de force performance to overcome Meath by 12 points in today’s All Ireland Senior Championship Final.

Their Midfield Maestro originally from Leitrim, Eilish O’Dowd shared her thoughts to us after the clash, having missed out on their 2024 campaign, she added a second All Ireland title to her impressive career.

    2025/07/17

This Saturday, it's all to play for as the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship Semi-Finals take centre stage in a mouth watering double header in Glenisk O'Connor Park, Tullamore.

Four previous champions are all staking their claim to make it to headquarters on August 3rd, 60 minutes separating them from the chance at All Ireland Glory, the others it will be the end of the road. No more second chances.

In another special edition of our LGFA Podcast, we bring you over an hour of expert analysis and exclusive interviews ahead of a pivotal weekend in the championship.

Joining us are Clare Owens (Leitrim) and Joanne Doonan (Fermanagh), both of whom featured in last year’s respective Intermediate and Junior semi-finals. They bring insider knowledge and expert insight as we look ahead to all the action.

First up on Saturday evening at 5:15pm, is the meeting of the defending champions Kerry and the 2021 and 2022 Senior Champions Meath. The Kingdom against The Royal County. For the fourth year in a row Kerry and Meath will battle in the knockout stages of the TG4 Senior All Ireland Championship. The last two years they met in Austin Stack Park in Tralee for the Quarter Final stage, and before that they met in the 2022 decider.

Kerry are going into their fourth All Ireland semi final in a row, and will look to make the same amount of All Ireland Final appearances. For Meath this is their first semi-final tie since July of 2022, and just over three years later they will look to replicate the outcome from that clash with Donegal to get over the line once again. In All Ireland semi-finals Meath have had a good run of form over the years, in 2021, 2020 2019 and 2018 they got over the line and booked All Ireland appearances.

Ahead of what promises to be another exciting matchup between these two sides, we heard from Kerry Midfielder Mary O'Connell and Meath defender Mary Kate Lynch.

Then at 7:30pm we have the second part of our double header, a rematch of the quarter final from last season, when Aoife O’Rourke goaled in the closing stages as Galway dethroned Dublin to book a semi-final ticket to Tullamore.

The Jackies are back this year looking to make it back to an All Ireland Final. Their last appearance in the last four came in 2023, where they defeated Cork in Thurles. Prior to that it was 2021 defeating Mayo. While they also won semi-finals in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014. 2005 was the last time Dublin failed to win a semi-final they competed in. Their opponents that defeated them?. Galway, a year after they defeated them in the final.

The 2004 Champions Galway will be aiming to make an All Ireland Final for successive seasons, as they look to secure the win in Tullamore. Last year they defeated Cork to book their ticket, now it's Dublin. Before last year 2020 was the last time they featured in a semi-final losing to Cork. 2019 they defeated Mayo before losing to Dublin in the decider. 2018 they lost to Dublin in their last clash in a semi-final. In the last eight years they have made two finals, and largely been competitive to reach the last four on occasions.
