A bedtime adventure for kids about empathy and big hearts. The rivers are spilling over their banks all around Tournebois, the green meadows are flooding, and nobody can work out why. Leo and Pistache decide to follow the rushing water all the way up into the high mountains, and there, at last, they discover the cause of all the commotion. High above them, an enormous giant is sitting and crying great big tears.

Most people would have turned and fled at the very sight of such a colossus. But our two heroes do exactly the opposite. They climb closer, they sit down beside him, they listen carefully, and they gently try to comfort him and find out what is making him so terribly sad. Because even the very biggest of all sometimes carry a heavy sorrow they need to share with someone. They do not flinch or run, even though the giant towers high above them like a moving mountain.

Once the giant has someone who is truly willing to listen, his tears begin to slow, his great booming sobs quiet down, and far below in the valley, the swollen rivers start to settle back into their beds. A little bit of kindness, it turns out, was all it took to calm the whole valley. The valley itself seems to sigh with relief, the floods draining away as the giant's heart grows lighter.

This is a moving adventure about empathy and really listening to other people, the kind that teaches a child to reach out a hand rather than run away from someone who seems frightening. Tender and reassuring for the end of the day. It is the kind of adventure that makes a child a little braver, and a great deal kinder.

It gently reminds a little one that everyone, no matter how big or how small, can feel sad sometimes, and that simply being there for someone is a quiet and powerful kind of magic.

A screen-free audio adventure for children from age 5, nice to listen to at bedtime or in the car. As always with Tilibou, the ending settles softly, without music, so your child can wind down peacefully. 🐉
