The second a kid messes up, the brain starts building a story to stay out of trouble. Today on Carpooling with Jesus, Pastor Justin opens Ephesians 4:25 and reframes honesty for kids. We belong to each other like one family, so telling the truth, even the hard truth, is one of the ways we actually love the people around us. A lie protects you for a minute. The truth protects the people you love for a long time.

This Friday episode hands kids three things to try this week: tell the truth about something they've been hiding before it gets heavier, whisper a one-sentence prayer for courage, and ask the heart question, am I being honest to protect myself or because I love them? About 5 minutes, kid-friendly, with a discussion question to land on together.
