JetLube KOPR-KOTE® is the copper anti-seize compound maintenance teams reach for when a seized bolt means a day of lost production — and this episode breaks down exactly how KOPR-KOTE prevents thread seizure and corrosion on high-temperature connections from -65°F to 1,800°F. https://www.pe-energy.com/product-category/anti-seize-compounds/

KOPR-KOTE works by packing thread irregularities with micro-size copper flakes and graphite dispersed in a water-resistant, petroleum-based grease loaded with antioxidants and rust inhibitors. The film will not squeeze out, gum up, or wash off under sustained contact stress — tested at 80,000 psi on 1-inch B7 studs. That means the lubricating barrier stays intact through heat cycles, vibration, and impact loads that destroy lesser compounds. A nut-factor (K) of 0.15 (T = K × D × F) gives procurement engineers and torque specs something to work with: consistent, predictable bolt tension on exhaust manifold bolts, compressor heads, and high-pressure flanges without over- or under-torquing.

The thermal window is genuinely wide. Dropping point exceeds 450°F (ASTM D-566), flash point is above 450°F (ASTM D-92), and oil separation is held below 3.0 wt. % at 212°F (ASTM D-6184) — so the grease matrix doesn't bleed dry and leave abrasive solids behind after heat cycling. That combination covers cryogenic valve stems at -65°F and steam flanges or autoclave studs approaching 1,800°F (982°C) in a single SKU. Fewer shelf positions, one qualified compound for your RFPs.

Extreme-pressure performance is documented: 4-ball weld point 620 kgf, Load Wear Index 125 (ASTM D-2596). The film does not rupture under high contact stress in pump housings, lathe centers, or rotating-equipment flanges. Copper strip corrosion rates a 1A (ASTM D-4048), confirming KOPR-KOTE is safe on copper-alloy components. Penetration at 77°F measures 310–330 (ASTM D-217) — NLGI No. 1 consistency — soft enough to brush or spray uniformly, firm enough to stay put on vertical fittings. Available in bulk containers and aerosol; aerosol users should shake the can ~30 seconds and reseat the nozzle to clear copper-particle buildup.

On the specification side, KOPR-KOTE carries NSF H2 Registration No. 120923 (incidental food contact; aerosol package excluded), conforms to MIL-PRF-907F — the U.S. military anti-seize lubricant benchmark used on Navy shipboard fittings and aircraft exhaust hardware — and meets Raytheon Spec M8656839 Type II for defense supply chains. The formulation is lead-free, zinc-free, and 0 g/L VOC, making it compatible with stainless and nickel alloys and aligned with RoHS-based procurement requirements. MIL-PRF-907F compliance gives your MRO buyers a recognized benchmark to cite in bid documents and supplier qualifications. See the full JetLube catalog: https://www.pe-energy.com/brand/jet-lube/

Spec KOPR-KOTE on threaded connections, pump housings, exhaust manifold studs, compressor heads, autoclaves, and high-temperature flanges wherever corrosion seizure between service intervals is destroying studs and nuts.
