Based in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, Jeram is an independent art practitioner, artist, educator, and researcher who expands local specificities into a global context. Through various artistic mediums, such as publishing, exhibitions, performances, and documentaries, Jeram illuminates marginalised narratives in society, focusing particularly on migration and diversity through a multilingual approach.
Notable works include the 2020 picture book Amran's Bus | Yasmin's Country, which tells the story of Yemeni refugees Amran and Yasmin who arrived in Jeju, and the 2023 picture book Daraga, created in collaboration with Vietnamese marriage migrant women and their children living in Jeju.
To ensure these artistic endeavours and archival works achieve structural sustainability, Jeram has begun a PhD program in Sociology at Jeju National University, using sociological methodologies as an academic foundation.
