Hannah Davis also sits down and shares her story with us about starting out in TV and some of the antics between Ric, Greg and Hannah while all working at WFAA-TV together for several years. Hannah covers the art of the interview and we even nerd out a bit in front of Jimmy with TV talk and he calls us out and then we of course share another Word of the Day.

    Ric Mulligan and Greg T. Johnson begin a new 2023 season of JMKast episodes starting with visiting Workspace Studios space in Garland, Texas where we learn all about the studio space and talk video production with Todd Stewart and Edd Solis from Workspace Studios. 

    In this episode Edd Solis and Todd Stewart rejoin us with Richard Marshall to talk about how the studios came together and the early years of the spaces as the studios were built. Edgar talks about some cool car and truck chases when covering news because of the some of the early year stories. Richard shares a story about getting a lot of his musical equipment stolen and recommends to write down all your serial numbers in case that ever happens. We also find out from Richard about tall guy etiquette when around other tall guys, he’s 6’10” and it’s hilarious information.  He also shares about dressing up as Big Tex when he goes to the State Fair of Texas each year nd Edgar wants to be his corny dog agent for Fletcher’s.     Ric Mulligan and Greg T. Johnson begin a new 2023 season of JMKast episodes starting with visiting Workspace Studios space in Garland, Texas where we learn all about the studio space and talk video production with Todd Stewart and Edd Solis from Workspace Studios. 

     

    In this episode we talk about Ric’s buttons getting pushed. We decide if we are the guests or if they are the guests. Of course there’s another Word of the Day with new exciting words to find out about. Edd tells us more about himself in video production and Greg talks about working with him at CBS Dallas for awhile and Arnold Payne is brought up who worked with Greg and Ric at WFAA-TV. We discuss several stories he has done with Greg in the past, The Negro Motorist Green Book, The Jerry LeVias Story and Vanishing of the Black Caddies. We continue the Texas mascots thanks to our wonderful research department and then Todd tells us about the mysterious disappearing bathroom when Richard Marshall stops by to visit and tells us about turning the storage units into a recording studio.     Ric Mulligan and Greg T. Johnson begin a new 2023 season of JMKast episodes starting with visiting Workspace Studios space in Garland, Texas where we learn all about the studio space and talk video production with Todd Stewart and Edd Solis from Workspace Studios. 
     
    In this second episode at Workspace Studios, Todd tells us the difference between a rhythm guitarist and lead guitarist and Ric and him talk about old guitar riffs they played back when. We all talk about scenes from the movie The Jerk with Steve Martin and then we talk about this year’s Golden Globes and current movies and TV shows and how Greg hasn’t seen anything this year. Who will win the Best Actor friendly bet was made between Elvis’s Austin Butler and The Whale’s Brendan Fraser. Ric says Fraser will win.Greg shares the message he saw on a coffee mug which said, “Never let anyone treat you like a vosot, you are a package” which becomes a lesson for Todd on TVLingo 101. We find out more about the studio spaces and how events work when having them at Workspace Studios. And as always we have a “Word of the Day”. We talk about acoustics and building a room to sound the best for recording audio.
