Welcome to It Only Happens to Earnny — a podcast where I share life, stories, and moments that make you think… “why does this only happen to me?” Hosted by Earnny, this podcast feels like sitting down with a friend who opens up about what life really feels like — from growing up Thai American between cultures, to navigating life in a small town, to figuring out who you are along the way. Some stories are funny, messy, and deep… but always real. If life hits a little differently… you’re not alone—and if something unexpected happens, it probably happens to me. ✨ IG: @onlyearnnypodEarnny Parkin 社会科学

  • Red, White, and Blue Are For Immigrants Too
    2026/07/15

For many people, the Fourth of July is about fireworks, barbecues, and celebrating America. For me, it's also a reminder of the journey that brought me here.

This week, I'm sharing one of the best holiday weekends I had with my extended family in Ohio and reflecting on my own immigration story- from moving to the U.S. from Thailand to navigating visas, green cards, and citizenship. TWICE. Second time with my English husband. I also talk about why gratitude and disappointment can exist at the same time, and why the American Dream looks different through immigrant eyes.

As America celebrates its birthday, I'm sharing a perspective that isn't often heard: one of earning a place, finding opportunity, and realizing that home isn't always just one place. Plus, this week's Thai Word of the Week is บ้าน (baan)—a little reminder that it's possible to have more than one home.

    Happy 250th Birthday, America. ❤️🤍💙

  • Welcome to the Dead Parent Club
    2026/07/01

Welcome to the Dead Parent Club.

Not exactly a club any of us asked to join. (I also hate it here)

In this episode, I open up about losing my dad, what grief has looked like over the past year, and the unexpected lessons it taught me about friendship, family, faith, and making the most of the time we have with the people we love.

On a different note, Happy Fourth of July ❤️🤍💙 and happy 250th birthday, America! 🇺🇸 However you're spending this holiday weekend, I hope this conversation reminds you to hold your loved ones a little closer.

If you're part of this club too, you're not alone. ❤️

  • Too Thai for America, Too American for Thailand
    2026/06/10

In this week's episode of It Only Happens to Earnny, I'm sharing one of the most personal parts of my journey: growing up as a Thai American in a small town and struggling to figure out where I belonged.

From hating my long Thai name and trying to fit in during high school to learning that I didn't have to choose between being Thai or American, this episode is about identity, culture, and finding the confidence to simply be myself. I also talk about two beautiful Thai concepts—kreng jai and nam jai—and how they've shaped the way I see kindness, community, and the world around me.

If you've ever felt caught between two cultures, wondered if you were "enough," or tried to hide parts of yourself just to fit in, this episode is for you.

Because being Thai American—or any mixed identity—isn't half of two worlds. You're one whole person, and your story deserves to be told. 🩷🤎
