  • [2015] 06: Discovering Your Talent as a Single Person
    2015/10/20

Still in the Stewardship Series, Jabez and I talk about discovering your talents, gift, calling or purpose in your life and how to take good care of it. Being a good steward of the talents and skills the Lord Jesus Christ has given us is reflective of our appreciation to our Creator. We share our own experiences, how we discovered what we're good at and how we stay secure and not compare what we can and can't do with others can and can't do.

  • Episode 4: Well-Informed or Discipled?
    2026/09/03

Nicole, Monica, and Emmylou unpacked if we are well-informed about our faith or is actually being discipled in it. Covered in this conversation are topics about being taught and being discipled, is there a difference between catching up and checking in with each other - listen for the simple test. They also cover honesty markers to determine the discipleship relationship.

    WHAT, NOW?

Choose one relationship you assumed was discipleship, or one you assumed was just casual. Honestly check it against the four markers mentioned in the episode. Then ask yourself two things:

    • Where am I only being taught, when I actually need to be discipled?
    • Where have I only let others see the surface without inviting them into my real life?

After you listen to this podcast, please head over to The Quest for Character - Transformation Beyond Self-Help. QFC podcast exists in the gap between knowing and becoming, between awareness and action, beyond self-help to Christlikeness because character is built not by chance but by choice.

  • Episode 3: Community Over Pretensions
    2026/08/15

[ FYI: You will hear a malunggay pandesal vendor’s jingle on the background and towards the end of the episode you will hear lots of birds chirping so please bear with us. We strive to make our recording as noise-free as possible even when we want these episodes to be more organic. We understand that these noise can be a pain on the ear so we thank you for your patience.]

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us learned that our worth in a community is tied to what we produce for it. How well you speak in front of people, how many likes your post gets, whether you’re impressive enough to earn your seat at the table. In this episode, Nicole, Monica, and Emmylou talked about the difference between a community that watches your performance and one that actually knows you.

    • In the communities we’re each part of right now, does anyone there know about our bad weeks, or only our good ones?

    WHAT, NOW?

Think of the community you’re most involved in right now. If you brought your actual struggles there instead of your polished self, do you believe you’d still belong? Sit with your honest answer, whatever it is.

  • [2015] 03: Managing Emotions
    2015/09/29

Jabez and I started this episode by sharing our personal process of forgiving. This is in response to a listener's question who was asking us how to forgive. We say it's not an easy thing but it is doable and we can't fully forgive unless we have experienced God's forgiveness ourselves.

  • Episode 2: Knowing Your Family's Story Without Being Trapped by It
    2026/08/15

Every family has a story they tell about themselves and another they don’t. In this episode, Nicole, Monica, & Emmylou talked about how to know your family’s story honestly, no denying, no covering it up, no judging or shaming either, looking at it as facts about the family starting with talking about their own families. Knowing your story means you can name the pattern - good or bad - without being defined or limited by it.

    • What is your family known for, in your place or among relatives, and do you actually want to be known for the same thing?
    • What has never really been talked about openly in your family? You don’t have to say the whole thing, but what would it cost just to name that it exists?
    • Which of your parents’ or grandparents’ patterns do you think you’re repeating, without ever having chosen to?
    • What part of your family’s story do you want to carry forward on purpose because it’s actually good?

    WHAT, NOW?

Name one pattern in your family, good or bad, that you’ve never said out loud before. You don’t have to tell anyone yet. Just admit it to yourself first.
