Today is about the Sermon on the Mount!
When Jesus would preach to the crowds he would often follow it up with “He who has ears, let him hear.” This might seem to be a bit unusual to us but it made sense to the Jews who heard it. In their culture one’s ability to hear is directly proportionate to their obedience. And obedience is acting in accordance to what’s been said to us by others....
