Madeline and Charlotte are back with an episode from the Sports Gossip Show’s Maine residency! The gals are posted up in an undisclosed location in the Midcoast to talk about the sale of the Lakers to former Disney CEO Bob Iger and venture capitalist Josh Kushner. Mark Walter, the current owner, will have made 2.5 billion dollars by flipping the team a year after he bought it. The Buss family, who used to own the team, also has some drama going on.
Iger and Kushner go way back, because they were introduced by their wives. Kushner is married to Karlie Kloss, the model and investor, and Iger is married to former model and current Dean at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Willow Bay. There is a whole cast of characters involved who have bought or almost bought sports teams — the gals talk about how these people made their money, and why sports teams are becoming a place for them to park it.
