Gillick is well known to Irish sports fans and indeed West Cork sporting fanatics for his interviews he has done over the years with local athletes such as Phil Healy, Nicola Tuthill and Paul O’Donovan.

His new book was also named as part of the 2025 list of Ger McCarthy’s ten brilliant books guaranteed to entertain and delight sports fans.
