このコンテンツについて
Sadaf Ahmadi says her art is not against Islam but political islam, but given the recent Quran burnings and terror threats in Sweden, curator of the culture centre in Borås wanted to cancel her exhibition. Her art was potentially seen as too provocative which could be a potential security threat.
Sadaf is not trying to be provocative but wants to express without restrictions the painful consequences of living under a totalitarian religious regime. Finally after national and local media coverage in Sweden and public pushback Sadaf can continue her full exhibition set for September and October. The opening of her exhibition is timed to commemorate the tragic death of Jina Mahsa Amini on September 16 2022. Jina Mahsa Amini was a 22 year old Kurdish woman who was taken into police custody for not wearing her hijab correctly. She was tortured and murdered for it. This sparked off a mass revolutionary movement against the Iranian regime that still continues today.
This is a three part interview where I begin with an introduction. Its three parts cause I'm shit at podcasting and I'm trying to get better. The important thing is that you listen to what Sadaf says and how she creates her art. Please take at look at her website and instagram and make it to Borås for the viewing.
